frequently asked questions
Q: |
I just joined and I can't get my username/password to work. |
A: |
Remember that both your username and password are case sensitive. We suggest that you cut and paste your username and password directly from the email sent to you. |
|
Q: |
Do you get a cut of what we sell our albums for, and if so what is your percentage? |
A: |
VinylPhile is only a forum for record buyers and sellers to meet and, as such, is not involved in the actual transactions between its members. Therefore we don't take a cut of any sales. |
|
Q: |
How does a sale work once I get an email of interest? Who pays for the shipping? Do I just get their address and ship once I get money? |
A: |
When someone responds to one of your record posts, you will be notified to log in to your Member's area where you will be able to contact that member and get his/her shipping address. It is up to you to decide on a shipping price once you find out where you will be sending the record(s). It is then the buyer's responsibility to pay the shipping on top of the base record price. And, yes, we suggest you collect the money before sending the record(s). |

Q: |
I have "such and such" album and I'm not sure how to determine its value. |
A: |
There are a number of factors that may determine the selling price you choosecondition, availability, popularity, etc. The bottom line is that, as a member, you are free to decide the price that you believe to be fair. If you're not getting any responses to your record postings, you can always edit the selling price accordingly by simply logging in to the members area. |
